15-inch Wooden Magnetic Chess & Checkers Set (3-inch King) — Foldable Travel Game
Product description
Patented support system: Unlike traditional folding boards that tend to bow at the center, this set uses an original small bracket that props the board up like a tiny table leg. The bracket keeps the playing surface completely flat and also protects tabletops from contact with the metal latch when the box is closed.
Board construction: The playing surface is crafted from natural wood with a smooth finish. The closed board measures 15 inches across, with 1.5-inch squares in alternating Walnut and Maple tones. The surround is about 0.55 inches thick and uses mortise-and-tenon joins for added strength. Rounded corners improve the look and feel, while a quality alloy metal lock resists wear through repeated opening and closing. Inside the box there are molded cavities to house every piece so they stay organized when stored.
Magnetic, handcrafted pieces: The set includes a full complement of chess pieces plus two extra queens and a full set of 24 checkers. Each game piece is hand-carved from wood and fitted with a modest magnet strong enough to hold pieces in place during play—even when the board is moved or used in a vehicle. Felt pads on the bottoms of the pieces protect the board surface and give smooth movement.
Portable design: The board folds in half and becomes compact for transport; fold dimensions are approximately 15 x 7.5 x 2 inches. The design is sturdy enough for travel and simple to carry to game nights or outdoor gatherings.
Presentation and warranty: The set is packaged with multiple protective layers to preserve the finish and carvings, making it gift-ready. It’s positioned as an elegant tabletop piece as much as a playable game. The maker offers a 365-day product warranty against defects and customer support for any issues.

Highly recommended — entertaining and well made
Lovely set. The carved pieces are attractive and easy to organize. I appreciate the dual chess/checkers function and the clever storage design. It occupies my boys for hours and feels durable. Plus there’s a felt pouch for the board, which I hadn’t expected. Feels upscale and makes a wonderful gift. Stable and elegant overall.

Elegant gift and fun to use
I love this set. The board opens and closes smoothly, pieces glide thanks to velvet bases, and construction feels solid. Inside there’s a molded tray to park pieces when you’re done. It looks luxurious and serves as lovely decor for game night.

Very nice, but storage could improve
Great value and attractive pieces, though the storage slots don’t always keep pieces in place when you open the box. We have to reset them before playing. Still a fun set — our six-year-old is already learning checkers and will be ready for chess soon.

Impeccable finish and authentic pieces
High-quality, understated product. The pieces follow classic shapes and the board finish and hinges are precise. I wanted internal compartments and double queens, and this set provides both. The piece colors come from the woods themselves rather than paints. Only minor gripe: the small double-queen pawns must be removed each time the board is opened, which could be improved. Overall very satisfying.

Best portable magnetic set I’ve found
I have large, expensive sets at home but needed a kid-friendly option. This one is superb: polished finish, tidy interior, and every piece has its place. I was so impressed I bought a second. The included instruction leaflet is useful too.
