CONDA 5.5 x 8.5 Top-Spiral Sketchbook Pad — 2-Pack, 100gsm Art Paper
Product description
This set includes two portable sketch pads sized at 5.5 x 8.5 inches, each pad bound at the top with a spiral that allows pages to be flipped over and the pad to open flat for comfortable drawing.
Each book features a handmade soft cover with a textured, slick-smooth finish that sheds moisture. The cover is intended to protect finished work during storage and transport, though frequent handling can show wear over time.
Inside are 80 sheets per pad of bright, fine-textured paper rated at 100gsm (68lb). The sheets are acid-free to help preserve colors and prevent yellowing over time, making them suitable as a keepsake for sketches and studies.
The paper surface is designed primarily for dry media—graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, pastels, sketching sticks and gel pens all perform well. While you can try light acrylic applications, heavy water-based painting and most markers are not recommended because they may bleed or warp the paper.
These pads are aimed at beginners, hobbyists and on-the-go artists who want a compact, reliable sketch surface for practice, journaling and quick studies.
Pros
- Thick 100gsm/68lb acid-free paper preserves work
- Top spiral binding opens flat for easy sketching
- Soft, protective handmade cover
Cons
- Not suitable for markers or heavy watercolor work
- Cover may scuff with frequent use
- Some users find it a bit pricey for paper pads
VerdictThese CONDA sketchbooks deliver durable, acid-free pages in a pocket-friendly size and a protective soft cover. Each pad lays flat thanks to the top spiral and contains heavy, textured 100gsm paper that handles most dry media without bleeding or early yellowing. They’re a solid pick for students, casual sketchers, and kids who want a portable art pad, though the covers can scuff with heavy handlin

Acceptable but a bit pricey
It functions fine, though I felt it was somewhat expensive for a pad of paper.

Solid everyday sketchpad
I’ve used this for months with no bleed-through. The black cover shows wear after heavy use, but that’s expected.

Durable — great for a child’s archive
Very sturdy and well made. My daughter is on her second pad; the first still holds years of drawings. Pencil and charcoal perform very well; watercolor is less reliable.

Kids love it
My granddaughter adores it; she colors and tucks stickers between pages. Sturdy and child-friendly.

Perfect starter sketchbook for a child
Bought this for my 5-year-old granddaughter who kept asking for paper. She loved the unicorn cover and having her own pad; pages tear out cleanly.

Handy for quick sketches and ideas
A good spot for practicing and doodling. Handles pencil and light ink with minimal bleeding and is easy to carry.

Too rough for smooth drawing
Lots of sheets, but the surface can be coarse—pencil sometimes drags. I won’t be buying again.
