2" x 35ft Yellow & Black Heavy-Duty Anti-Slip Stair Tape Roll
Product description
This anti-slip roll measures 2 inches wide and 35 feet long, with a coarse 80-grit surface in alternating black and yellow for added visibility. The textured layer provides traction while the backing contains a high-tack adhesive designed to create a waterproof bond.
Included is a single continuous roll ready to be cut to length with scissors. Apply it by cleaning and drying the target surface, ensuring ambient and surface temperatures are above 40°F, trimming the roll to fit, peeling off the release liner, and firmly pressing the tape into place. It adheres to a variety of smooth materials such as wood, metal, tile, concrete and plastic.
The tape is oil-resistant and intended for both indoor and outdoor use—suitable for stair edges, ramps, decks, skateboards, machinery and other areas that need improved footing. Its low profile helps avoid tripping while the yellow-and-black pattern increases edge visibility.
When removed, the adhesive is designed to come off without damaging delicate surfaces if done carefully, but performance will depend on the substrate and conditions. This tape increases surface friction but cannot guarantee slip prevention in every weather or use scenario; exercise caution after installation.
Pros
- High-visibility black-and-yellow pattern
- 80-grit texture for solid traction
- Waterproof and oil-resistant adhesive
Cons
- Adhesion varies by surface and prep
- May wear under heavy vehicle traffic
- Difficult to reposition once applied
VerdictA practical, visible solution for improving traction on steps, ramps and flat surfaces. The 80-grit surface offers reliable grip and the adhesive bonds well to many smooth surfaces when applied to a clean, dry area above 40°F. It’s waterproof and resists oil, but longevity varies with exposure and heavy traffic. Good value for making walkways and equipment safer, though some users report adhesion

Pulled up and tore easily
Didn’t adhere well for me and ripped when I tried to smooth it. Disappointed in performance.

Limited sticking power on some surfaces
Barely held to concrete and won’t stick to itself if layered, so overlapping strips don’t bond. Might be better suited for indoor applications.

Exactly what I needed for steps
Adheres well and reduced slipping on my steps. If it endures through multiple seasons I’ll be very pleased; otherwise I’ll update.

Adhesive failed after a few days
Initially seemed secure, but after three days the tape released and fell off a freshly painted, cured surface. Was surprised given the early grip.

Strong tack and visible texture
Very sticky on the adhesive side and the textured face gives decent bite. Easy to trim. Hard to lift and reposition, so measure carefully and buy extra. Works well on painted metal planks and stays low profile.

Good quality and grip
Feels well made with solid adhesion. Yellow could be a touch brighter, but the traction works as intended.

Helps with limited mobility access
Used at a car doorway for better footing. First try failed, but after cleaning and warming the surface it stuck and has stayed put. Coarse without being overly abrasive and plenty of roll left.

Worth installing on outdoor stairs
Applied to outdoor steps that got slick when wet and it noticeably improved grip. Installation was simple: clean, cut, peel and press. The pattern makes step edges easier to see, and it has held up under rain so far.

Good adhesion to concrete but fades
After four months it stuck to concrete very well and was easy to place. The width is visible without being bulky. Durability is a drawback—tore slightly under car traffic and has faded a bit.

Perfect grip upgrade for gym gear
Used this as grip strips on several pieces of home gym equipment and it transformed traction. Applied to an aluminum calf block and a seated calf machine—feet no longer slipped and control improved. The yellow-and-black look matches equipment and feels professional.

Keeps stairs safer in cold months
Applied to outdoor steps before winter and after two months it shows no lifting. My son and I are impressed—will repurchase if needed.
