   Nice starter selection for newbies

   As a beginner I appreciated the range of shades. The texture is acceptable and my granny squares came out nice. The balls are much smaller than I expected and I ended up using a slightly smaller hook than the package suggested to get the tension I wanted.

   Too tiny for my needs

   These come as very small spools — much smaller than I expected. They were disappointing as a gift because they looked so tiny, though some people did find them amusing. Not what I wanted for larger crochet projects.
