Checkered Easy Jute 3x5 Entryway Rug — Black Diamond Indoor/Outdoor
Product description
Modern farmhouse checkered design: This rug features a printed charcoal-and-natural checkerboard pattern meant to evoke woven jute, offering a neutral, rustic look that complements farmhouse, coastal, and contemporary interiors. The distressed tones provide subtle texture suitable for entryways, kitchens, covered porches, and RVs.
Durable polyester construction: Woven from long-lasting polyester fibers engineered to resemble jute’s appearance without the coarse feel, the rug resists shedding and stays comfortable underfoot. The low-profile weave avoids the loft of pile rugs, making it easy to walk on and ideal for doorways.
What’s included and sizing: The package contains the single 3 x 5 foot flat-woven rug (also available in longer runner sizes). The slim profile ensures it fits beneath most doors and layers easily over another rug or rug pad when desired.
Slip-resistant TPE backing: A thermoplastic elastomer underside helps keep the rug in place on hardwood, laminate, tile, and similar hard surfaces. For best traction, place on clean, dry floors and press flat after unboxing.
Easy-care, low-maintenance finish: Because it’s flat woven rather than piled, the rug resists pilling and loose fibers. It can be vacuumed, swept, shaken out, or machine washed according to care instructions. If shipped folded, mild creases will relax after laying the rug flat or placing weight on it for a few days.
Usage tips and limitations: Ideal for entryways, front porches with cover, doorways, kitchens, patios, campers and other sheltered outdoor spaces. Avoid placing in constant direct sunlight for long stretches—colors may mellow over time. The tight weave can trap dirt and grass, so routine sweeping or vacuuming keeps it looking its best.

VerdictThis checkered easy-jute rug delivers farmhouse style with practical performance: polyester fibers that mimic jute, a thin woven surface that won’t shed, and a TPE backing that grips hard floors. It’s machine-friendly for quick cleaning and low enough to fit under most doors. Expect some surface debris from heavy outdoor use and some fading in prolonged direct sun, but overall it’s a durable, attr

Versatile and good value
Great value — I bought two sizes. I even used one as a backdrop for a photo booth at an engagement party before keeping it at home. Love how it looks.

Pretty and practical — washable
This rug looks lovely in my entry and the fact it’s machine washable makes life simpler. It feels well made and the backing keeps it from sliding when I vacuum.

Stylish runner but collects outdoor debris
The pattern and length are perfect for my kitchen, and the quality feels solid. The tight woven texture, however, traps grass and dirt my dog brings in, so it needs regular sweeping and a thorough vacuum now and then. Still a great-looking, well-made runner.

Perfect for my porch — I bought two
I love checkered designs, so I grabbed two for the back porch and they’ve lasted over a year. I hose them off occasionally and they haven’t unraveled. Very easy to clean and the size is ideal.

Blends with my decor and handles traffic
This jute-style rug has held up to heavy in-and-out use in my foyer with no visible wear. It’s casual but pairs well with different styles, and while it’s a bit thin, it’s not flimsy—handles lots of foot traffic. I layered it over an old rug for extra cushioning and it works great.

Sturdy entry set that pairs well with the runner
I bought the 3x5 model a year ago and it’s stood up to heavy foot traffic and pets. After renovating, I used that 3x5 for our entry and purchased the matching runner for the hallway—colors match perfectly. The backing grips my LVP floors well and the thickness lets doors open easily. It arrived folded but had no strong smell; steam and time smoothed most creases. My only annoyance is vacuuming on LVP can be fiddly, but overall I’m very pleased.

Good for shaded areas — sun will fade it
Cute rug and a solid base layer for styling, but don’t place it in full sun. I got mine in mid-March and by late May the black had faded to brown where it faced direct afternoon sun. If you like a weathered look, this may be fine.

Lovely rug but delivery concern
The rug itself is excellent, but the delivery person left the box out on the street without ringing the bell or notifying me. I risked losing the package; luckily I found it before anyone took it.

Great fit for bedroom sides
Arrived on time and I’m very happy with the quality. I bought two for either side of my bed; they look good and are easy to remove and clean. I’ll likely order more later.

Neutral, crisp pattern with solid construction
The checkered look is subtle and elevated—just enough contrast to feel designer without being loud. It lies flat, edges stay put, and it feels durable underfoot. It withstands wind and traffic on my porch and doesn’t look faded. Easy to shake out and clean, it looks more upscale than the cheap printed mats I tried before.

Looked wrinkled at first but iron method worked
The runner arrived folded with creases and one edge slightly curled. I sandwiched it between sheets and carefully ironed on high; that flattened everything out much better than the other remedies suggested, and the design helps hide any remaining imperfections.

Thinner than I expected
It’s slimmer than I thought, but still acceptable for my space.
