GAPZER Soft-Sided Large/Medium Pet Carrier with Privacy Shades

Product description

This large soft-sided carrier is designed for medium and large cats or small dogs, with overall dimensions of 18.1" L x 11.8" W x 11.8" H and a recommended maximum load of 20 lbs (9 kg). Don’t choose solely by weight — also compare your pet’s length and height to these measurements.

The structure uses durable oxford fabric for the exterior and features mesh panels around the carrier to maximize airflow and let pets see out. Each mesh window is accompanied by a roll-down blind that can be closed when your animal needs privacy or reduced stimulation.

It includes two entry points: a top opening and a side opening for convenient loading and handling. The interior base has a faux lambskin liner that zips out for machine washing, giving a cozy surface that’s also easy to clean. The bottom is a composite material covered by the removable liner.

For transport, the unit collapses flat into a pad for compact storage and portability. Carrying options include padded handles and an adjustable shoulder strap stuffed with soft cotton to widen the strap and reduce strain on the shoulder, letting you choose whichever carry style works best.

Pros

  • Full-perimeter mesh for ventilation and visibility
  • Roll-down blinds to reduce stress for nervous pets
  • Removable, machine-washable faux lambskin liner

Cons

  • Rated to 20 lbs (9 kg), so too small for larger dogs
  • Some pets may find interior space tighter than expected
  • Mesh can be vulnerable to determined chewers

VerdictThis soft-sided pet carrier balances ventilation, privacy, and portability. It’s built from durable oxford fabric, features mesh on every side for airflow and visibility, and includes roll-down blinds to calm anxious pets. The interior has a removable faux lambskin liner that is machine washable, and the carrier folds flat for storage. It supports up to 20 lbs (9 kg) and offers both top and side a

    Excellent privacy shades

I appreciate the built-in pull-down shades — they give my cat a calmer space when we’re in busy places. The carrier is robust, comfortable for my pet, and easy to carry. The shades are a standout feature.

  2. Amber R 5/5

    Works well for vet trips

Bought to take my cat to the vet. Simple to operate and my cat settled right in. Quality feels solid and the straps make it easy for older family members to handle.

  3. Texas Filly 5/5

    So good I want another

My cat outgrew the old one and this fits her perfectly. Construction is sturdy and the wide removable shoulder strap is comfortable. Mesh on all sides gives great airflow and the roll-up covers help when she’s nervous. The interior has room for an extra small blanket and the overall material is soft and easy to clean. Very pleased with this carrier.

  4. Disappointed 5/5

    Meets my requirements

I needed excellent ventilation for rides on my e-trike and this carrier delivers with mesh on all sides and an internal short leash to prevent escapes. The light color helps reflect heat and overall construction feels sturdy. Highly recommend.

    Spacious and well made

I replaced my older carrier because my seven-year-old needed more room. At about nine pounds she can stand and turn around comfortably and stayed relaxed during the car ride. Construction is solid and the deep purple color is attractive. Definitely worth buying.

  6. Roxy and Jake 5/5

    Kitty approved

Perfect fit for my kitten — he loves it. Mesh all around is great if he wants to peek out, and the top zipper lets him pop his head up. Sturdy and folds neatly for storage.

    Good build, arrived fast

Haven’t used it for outings yet. It’s not as huge as I imagined, but fine for moving cats short distances. Seems well made and was delivered quickly. Ideal for a single cat.

  8. SJD 5/5

Great overall, but sizing runs small

This carrier is almost ideal — well-built and attractive, with nice roll-down blinds. The zippers were stiff at first but adjusted with a little effort. The bottom has a hard insert with a zip-on washable cover. It was too small for the puppy I adopted, so double-check dimensions for larger dogs.

Nice look but mesh is fragile

Used it for the first outing and the kitten managed to chew a hole in the mesh, so it may not hold up to very playful or teething pets.

  10. Eric scott 5/5

    Handy for annual vet visit

Worked fine to carry my cat to the yearly checkup.

  11. Sharon 5/5

    Fast delivery and lightweight

Arrived quickly and is easy to carry. Our cat already likes to sleep inside it.

  12. Megan Campbell 5/5

Spacious enough for my long cat

My cat is 13–14 lbs and quite long; this carrier gives him room to stretch and he started using it to nap right away. Haven’t traveled with it yet, but I expect he’ll be more comfortable on vet trips.
