HeatnBond UltraHold Iron-On Adhesive Roll — 3/8 in × 10 yd
Product description
This product is supplied as a single roll of paper-backed, double-sided solid film adhesive measuring 3/8 inch wide by 10 yards long. The film is sandwiched between protective paper liners so you cut the required length and position it between two fabric layers or under trim.
The adhesive is heat-activated and forms a permanent bond when pressed with an iron. It is intended for attaching 1/2 inch ribbon, light-to-medium weight lace, trim and similar decorative pieces rather than for finishing hems. Because it is double-sided, it adheres to both surfaces without pins or temporary staples, so no stitching is required for most trim applications.
Construction: the product is a solid fusible film with a paper release liner on both faces. Use a dry or low-steam iron at the manufacturer-recommended temperature for your fabric, press to transfer the adhesive, then remove the paper liner and press again to secure the top layer. It is suitable for many lightweight and medium fabrics but performance depends on fiber content; always trial on scrap fabric first.
Made in the USA, this roll is marketed as a stronger alternative to basic fusible webs for decorative bonding and small repairs. It is most effective when used for trims, linings and appliqué work rather than heavy-duty seam finishes.
Pros
- Strong permanent bond for trims and appliqués
- Eliminates pinning and most hand-sewing
- Comes ready on a paper-backed roll for easy cutting
Cons
- Paper liner can be fussy to remove
- Not suitable for hems or heavy fabrics
- Results depend on correct heat and fabric type
VerdictUltraHold is a convenient no-sew fusible film on a 3/8-inch by 10-yard roll that speeds up lining, trim and small repair tasks. It produces a strong permanent bond when applied correctly with heat and will outperform many basic fusible webs for holding trims and lightweight fabrics. Some users find the paper backing fiddly to remove and results can vary with fabric type and ironing technique, so t

Great for lining small bags
I use this to attach linings inside my crochet purses and totes. Fast, tidy and saves a lot of stitching time. Looks neat and holds well.

Followed the package directions but couldn’t get it to work. After opening the seal I couldn’t return it, so I was disappointed.

Quick and tidy application
Simple to cut and apply; I bonded a polyester-blend summer dress trim and it stayed secure.

Handy for quick repairs
Bought it again after earlier use. It was a real help for mending family clothing and for assembling jelly-roll runners—very useful in a sewing basket.

Strong bond when done right
Functioned exactly as I needed — secure, no sewing required when applied properly.

Had difficulty getting it to stick
I struggled to make it adhere; possibly user error, but I couldn’t get a reliable bond on my pieces.

Works if applied carefully
It will hold fabrics without sewing, but the paper backing can be tricky and the timing/iron temp matters. Folded edges bonded well once applied.
