Keychron K2 HE 75% Wireless Hall-Effect Magnetic Mechanical Keyboard

Product description

Launcher web configurator and customization: The K2 HE pairs its magnetic sensing with a browser-based Launcher for remapping keys, creating macros, and adjusting actuation points and rapid triggering. Because the configurator runs in a browser you can tweak settings from virtually any device without installing software.

Multi-mode wireless and polling rate: This keyboard supports 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, and wired USB-C modes. It offers a 1000 Hz polling rate for competitive responsiveness and can be paired to multiple devices for easy switching between computer, tablet and phone.

Compatibility and included extras: Designed for macOS and Windows users, the K2 HE ships with both Mac and Windows keycaps so switching systems is seamless. The compact 75% layout retains essential keys in a smaller footprint for desktop efficiency.

Hot-swap magnetic switches: The board comes equipped with pre-lubed Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic switches that are hot-swappable. Actuation can be tuned with 0.1 mm sensitivity and adjusted anywhere from 0.2 mm up to 3.8 mm, allowing for highly personalized feel. Hot-swap and compatibility are specific to Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic switches.

Rapid Trigger behavior: Rapid Trigger measures and uses real-time travel to determine activation and reset points, producing near-instant responses for fast inputs. This feature is particularly useful for rhythm games and fast-paced competitive play.

Materials and finish: Keychron outfitted the K2 HE with durable double-shot PBT keycaps and natural rosewood side panels for a blend of resilience and aesthetics. Key legends are not backlight shine-through, so they can be harder to read in very low light.

Use and handling: The K2 HE is built with a hefty, premium chassis that feels substantial on a desk and should stand up to heavy daily use. Its weight and solid construction contribute to stability and a premium typing experience, though that same solidity makes it less convenient for frequent transport.

Pros

  • Per-key adjustable magnetic actuation
  • Multiple wireless modes and 1000 Hz polling
  • Sturdy build with PBT keycaps and rosewood sides

Cons

  • Heavier, not ideal for frequent travel
  • Hot-swap limited to Gateron double-rail magnetic switches
  • Some users report software or 2.4 GHz dongle issues

VerdictA robust, premium-feeling 75% keyboard that pairs adjustable magnetic actuation with versatile connectivity and a browser configurator. Excellent for heavy typing and fast-paced games thanks to rapid-trigger capability and hot-swap support for Gateron double-rail magnets. Be aware of weight, occasional software or dongle quirks reported by some users, and limited compatibility to magnetic double-r

Reviews

  1. Feel good to have a pencil 5/5

    Great birthday present

Bought it for my wife’s birthday and she uses it daily. Gives a mechanical feel without being overly loud, comfortable for long work sessions.

  2. JonnyB 1/5

Disappointed — design and mod limits

After years with the brand I was let down. Out-of-box experience felt middling. No clear place for the USB receiver, overall sound is rather clacky, and stabilizers/switch swaps didn’t fit as expected. Other Hall-effect boards offer better value.

  3. Wingspinner 5/5

Exactly what I needed — simple and solid

I’ve tried many keyboards and this one hits the sweet spot: quiet, well-built, and practical. Works across Mac, Windows and Linux with swap-able keycaps. Long battery life, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz and wired modes. Heavy construction makes it feel durable but not ideal for travel.

  4. Madeline 5/5

    Perfect for rhythm gaming

Rapid-trigger functionality improved my timing in osu!mania and Quaver. Feels precise and comfortable, and the LEDs are bright and customizable. Highly recommended for rhythm players.

  5. Katzui 5/5

    Calidad y sensación cremosa

Mi novio me lo recomendó y tenía mucha razón. Es mi primer teclado de calidad.

  6. Joel J. 5/5

    Surprisingly impressive overall

Looks great and types butter-smooth thanks to factory lube. Rapid trigger gives a very responsive feel and per-key sensitivity is useful. Compact layout requires adjustment but performs well for both gaming and office use. A wrist rest helps.

  7. Nitin Soni 5/5

    Eye-catching and excellent performance

Milky white with wooden sides looks fantastic. Smooth operation, easy web customization, and quieter than many gaming boards. HE springs reduced my typos and produced a creamy sound. Now use it for work and gaming.

  8. Howard S. Epstein 5/5

A pure pleasure to type on

I’m not a gamer, but I wanted an outstanding typing board and this delivers. Keys are smooth with a satisfying thwock, and lighting is a nice bonus. Makes long typing work much more enjoyable.

  9. Jiax 5/5

Reliable wireless gamer with a small wake quirk

Solid wireless performance and configurable settings. Battery easily lasts around two weeks with LEDs. In deeper sleep states it sometimes needs extra spacebar presses or button clicks to wake.

  10. QA_0521 3/5

2.4 GHz dongle failed after 10 months

Update: the 2.4 GHz connection stopped working after about 10 months; Bluetooth and USB-C still work. Tried resets and firmware updates without success and contacted support. Otherwise the keyboard is excellent, but this raises QC concerns.

  11. ryan 4/5

    Premium feel but connection quirks

Feels high-end and types great. Bluetooth/2.4 GHz will sometimes drop after idle (~30 minutes) and needs reconnecting. Switches were nicely pre-lubed but became a touch clickier over time; re-lubing helps.

  12. Rosa DeLuca 5/5

    Outstanding hardware, frustrating software

Build quality and typing feel are superb, wood sides add a premium touch, and battery lasts 1–2 weeks. The web configurator and firmware updater are glitchy—settings sometimes fail to save. Software stability needs work.

  13. Elvin 5/5

Fantastic HE board with refined style

Very responsive and highly tweakable via the web Launcher. The white model with wood accents looks classy; I keep the RGB set to white for a subtle effect. RGB isn’t vivid, 2.4 GHz was lag-free in my tests, and I mainly use it wired. Web configurator is convenient.
