Kodak EKTAR H35N Half-Frame Film Camera Bundle — Striped Green
Product description
This striped green half-frame camera arrives as a compact kit that includes one roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 film, 24 exposures. The camera body is designed for casual, everyday shooting and doubles the number of frames per roll by using a half-frame format.
Optically, it uses a single coated glass element in the lens to sharpen images and improve contrast. An integrated star filter converts small light points into a four-beam flare, adding a distinctive creative effect to highlights and night lighting.
For longer exposures there is a bulb function that allows you to hold the shutter open to record motion trails and low-light scenes; a tripod socket on the base lets you mount the camera to stabilize shots during extended exposures. The kit does not include batteries, a cable release or a tripod, so those accessories must be obtained separately.
The camera is intended as a straightforward point-and-shoot: it’s portable, easy to handle and optimized for users who want to experiment with film without complex controls. The half-frame layout and built-in filter make it appealing for playful, everyday photography while remaining compatible with standard 35mm processing.
Pros
- Half-frame doubles exposures per roll
- Built-in star filter for creative flares
- Simple, beginner-friendly operation
Cons
- Some users report counter or advancing issues
- Tendency toward underexposure in low light
- Requires extra accessories for long exposures
VerdictA fun, easy-to-use half-frame point-and-shoot that stretches a roll of 35mm film and adds creative flair with a star filter and long-exposure capability. Good for beginners and everyday shooters, though some users report reliability and exposure inconsistencies. The bundle includes one 24-exposure Ultramax 400 roll; extras like batteries and supports must be sourced separately.

Performs as expected
Does what it’s meant to do. I haven’t developed film yet, but it operated smoothly and looks well made.

Do they replace faulty units?
The frame counter stopped working and I wasted several shots while it didn’t move.

Arrived with damage
My unit came with a broken corner on the front. The camera is pretty otherwise, but the defect was disappointing on arrival.

Perfect for holiday nostalgia
Used it on summer vacation and it felt nostalgic. One roll can yield about forty half-frame images; good choice for beginners and arrived in good condition.

Unreliable — ruined two rolls
I bought this to avoid disposables but had major issues. The counter was stuck at first, then on a two-week trip two rolls returned with heavy black haze. Later the film advance and shutter jammed after about 30 shots. My local lab recommended an older mechanical camera instead; this one proved frustrating and wasteful.

Nice retro look but dim shots
Great vintage style and fun to use, but it often produces underexposed images, so a flash is needed most of the time.
