   These aren’t traditional dusty chalks; they behave like silky crayons with strong color saturation. The twist-up design keeps fingers clean and some blending is possible for smoother fills. The tips are fairly wide, so fine lines are tough; best for broader coloring or outdoor art. I found a small imperfection in one stick that gave my sky a darker streak — it ended up adding character to the page.

   My son is obsessed — colors really pop

   My kiddo uses these constantly. The hues are much more saturated than old-fashioned chalk and show up great on concrete and on his chalkboard. They feel smoother than regular sticks and the holders mean no messy hands or broken pieces in the grass. Heavy-handed artists will go through them faster, but the twist action ensures you can use nearly every bit. Non-toxic and washable, so we’ll be buying more.
