OLIGHT Perun 3 Rechargeable Headlamp — 3,000 lm, Red/Blue, IP68
Product description
High-output LEDs and long runtime: The lamp uses premium LEDs that produce up to 3,000 lumens and are designed to light large areas and long distances. With careful power management it can run for extended periods—manufactured specs indicate uptime measured in days on low settings—making it suitable for extended trips, professional inspections, and repetitive tasks.
Red light and signaling modes: The unit includes a dedicated red LED with two steady brightness levels plus a flashing mode for signaling. The red settings are engineered for preserving night vision and for discreet movement before dawn or after dusk, while also offering extremely long endurance at the lower outputs.
Proximity sensing and safety: An integrated proximity sensor monitors for nearby objects during Turbo activation. If the sensor detects an obstruction before or within roughly half a second of engaging the highest output, the lamp automatically reduces power to avoid glare and accidental damage to the environment or eyes.
Form, controls, and multipurpose use: The headlamp body is made from metal for toughness and heat dissipation. Large metal side buttons give tactile, reliable control, and the light module detaches from the strap to function as a right-angle handheld flashlight. A rechargeable battery is included inside the lamp, and the tail end houses a magnetic contact for hands-free attachment to metal surfaces.
Headband and durability: The L-sized headband uses a rugged stainless-steel mounting frame to secure the lamp, with breathable materials and an anti-sweat rubber strip for comfort during active use. The assembly is rated IP68 for dust and water ingress resistance, and the overall construction emphasizes impact resistance and long-term reliability.

VerdictThe Perun 3 is a robust, high-output headlamp that blends raw brightness with practical features for professionals and serious outdoors users. Its 3,000-lumen LED delivers broad illumination while the red light options prolong runtime and preserve night vision. The proximity sensor protects nearby objects and eyes during Turbo starts, and the light can be removed from the strap to serve as a right

Pocketable power with practical features
Use it every day for early-morning rounds and quick jobs. The red spotlight is bright enough for working on greens in near-dark, and the max white mode floods wide areas. Small footprint but impressive output — a solid, multi-use lamp so far.

Taegen B. 5/5
A must-have for nighttime tasks
Great for cave trips, hikes and car repairs; it removes the awkward hold of a handheld light. Brighter and longer-lasting than some other headlamp brands I’ve used, and the functionality is hard to beat for night work.

Pat Mauck 5/5
Easy one-handed operation, very bright
The included battery and large side button make single-handed use simple when my other hand is occupied. The red output is effective and the main beam is cool-white and intense. It’s front-heavy but the strap and aluminum mount keep it secure. Very reliable in hectic moments.

Jeepin 5/5
Versatile but heavy for prolonged wear
Performs well as a headlamp and kept me bright during a multi-hour cave hike. The larger battery adds weight, though the top strap helps stabilize it. Good option if you need extended runtime and strong output for shorter sessions.

Daniel Hosier 5/5
Rugged and ideal for inspections
Perfect for attic and crawlspace work; extremely bright and holds a charge for days. Fast to recharge and the headband adjusts well. I wish it had beam focus, since the throw is broad, but it’ll light up very distant targets. Substantial and durable, though a bit weighty.

Michael Rannazzisi 5/5
Built like a tank, performs consistently
Quality is obvious straight from the box. I keep it in my tool pouch and reach for it constantly—gave one to an employee who also loves it. Battery life at full charge lasts a long time and the magnet holds solid. It’s a touch heavy on the head, but durability and performance make up for that entirely.

M.S. 5/5
Small but seriously powerful
Exceptional for both hunting and tight workspaces. Compact footprint, long-lasting battery, and a strong tail magnet. Metal housing feels rugged and the multiple white levels plus bright/dim red modes are incredibly useful for pre-dawn trips and preserving night vision. Red modes run seemingly forever.

CLAY S 5/5
Still going strong after extended use
Replaced a stolen unit and the new one has been exposed to chemicals, grease and multiple drops without failure. The updated headband clips on smoothly. Modes are intuitive and the proximity sensor can be turned off if desired. Good water resistance and pocketable despite ample power.
