Adjustable Heavy-Duty Doorway Pull-Up / Chin-Up Bar with Foam Grips
Product description
This adjustable doorway pull-up bar arrives with all the mounting parts you need: two end-cap brackets and a set of screws for a fixed installation. The main shaft is constructed from heavy-duty steel and outfitted with two foam-covered grips to reduce hand fatigue and slipping during repetitions.
The telescoping rod extends to fit most standard doorframes, accommodating internal widths from 24" up to 39". When installed high, it serves for pull-ups, chin-ups and leg raises; positioned lower it can be used for triceps dips, incline push-ups or as an anchor for anchoring feet during floor crunches. The manufacturer lists a maximum user weight of 220 pounds when properly mounted.
Assembly is simple: expand the bar to the target width, seat the end caps into the doorframe and secure with the included screws if extra stability is desired. The foam grips provide a firmer, more comfortable hold during hangs and dynamic movements. While robust in steel construction, the bar may apply force to the doorframe area where it contacts the trim, so install it on a solid, well-supported frame for best results.
Pros
- Adjustable fit for 24"–39" doorframes
- Heavy-duty steel construction
- Cushioned foam grips reduce slipping
Cons
- May leave marks or stress on softer doorframes
- Rated to 220 lb — verify for heavier users
- Requires a secure frame and careful installation
VerdictA practical, compact solution for home upper-body training: heavy-gauge steel, comfortable foam grips and included mounting hardware make setup straightforward. Works well for pull-ups, chin-ups and core moves if your doorway is solid; watch for potential surface wear on softer frames and observe the 220 lb capacity.

Performs up to a weight limit
Works well for lighter users—around 75–80 kg it’s fine. Above that the bar starts to sag noticeably.

Not renter-friendly
Not suitable if you need a non-damaging option for a rental doorframe—this pressed into and marred my trim.

Dangerous failure with kids — caution advised
This bar caused a serious fall when it shifted and shortened under a child’s weight. The frame showed cracking and the bar came out of its bracket during use. If children will be using it, be very cautious and consider a different mounting system.

All good
No complaints — performs as expected for pull-ups and hanging stretches.

Practical, simple and flexible
Very happy with this bar. It wedges securely in my frame and the included caps and screws let you fasten it if extra hold is needed. I noticed some stress marks where it presses against the trim, but no structural damage. Grips stay comfortable even with sweaty hands. Adjusts as advertised; I’ve used it safely at about 150 lb.

Easy install, performs well
Installation was quick with a drill, level and tape measure. Pre-drilled holes matched up and the supplied hardware felt sufficient. I use it daily and it hasn’t flexed or creaked.

Holds firmly in the frame
Secures tightly in my doorway. Kids use it for play and we even hang a small swing from it without issues.

No manual but straightforward
No printed guide came with it, yet it’s easy to fit if you’re handy and have a level. Initially confusing which end extended, but both ends do extend; the threading direction explains the feel once you try it.

Broke quickly
Used it one time and it stripped. Now useless—would not recommend.
