Aojin Adult Knee Scooter with 8" Wheels and Padded Knee Rest
Product description
This knee scooter is built around a durable carbon-steel frame rated for up to 300 pounds. The chassis has been widened and engineered with a low center of gravity to reduce the risk of tipping, making it suitable for recovery from foot, ankle or lower-leg injuries and for below-knee amputees. The package includes the scooter itself plus a removable carry bag for personal items.
A thickened, upgraded knee pad provides cushioned support and helps reduce pressure on hips and the other leg during use. The scooter folds down for compact transport and stowage, and it’s designed for everyday indoor and outdoor use on relatively smooth surfaces.
Height adjustments accommodate riders roughly between 4'7" and 6'1": the handlebar telescopes from about 33" to 38.9" while the knee rest adjusts from approximately 15.8" to 19.7" to help you find a comfortable stance. The unit rides on 8" premium rubber wheels that resist wear and slipping and are intended to run smoothly on pavement and tile.
Stopping is handled by one-touch dual handbrakes for predictable control; the manufacturer recommends keeping speeds below about 2.4 mph for safety. The frame and components are designed for straightforward assembly and routine folding for transport.
While sturdy and practical for most indoor and light outdoor use, users with very uneven terrain or frequent stairs may find limitations. The scooter is a compact, mobile alternative to crutches or a walker when you need hands-free movement and stable support during recovery.
Pros
- Solid carbon-steel frame with 300 lb capacity
- Thick, comfortable knee pad for extended use
- Folds and includes a removable carry bag
Cons
- Small wheels can struggle on rough ground
- Some users report squeaks after extended use
- May be awkward to manage on stairs or very uneven surfaces
VerdictA sturdy, user-friendly knee scooter that replaces crutches indoors and on smooth outdoor paths. It delivers solid support with a high weight limit, comfortable padding and easy folding, though it can feel fidgety on very uneven ground.

Much better than crutches or a walker
Arrived well packaged and assembled in about ten minutes. I added a bell and lights for fun, but performance is what matters: it’s far superior to crutches or a walker for getting around. The shock absorber and 8" wheels give good stability and the 300 lb capacity feels secure. The knee pad seam can be uncomfortable at the rear for some users.

Affordable but cautious outdoors
Works well inside on smooth floors, and is affordable for short-term needs. Outdoors it felt unstable at times when hitting small stones or pavement gaps; the compact wheelbase and wheel size seem to contribute. After a few weeks it developed a loud squeak that didn’t fully respond to lubrication, and there’s slight play where the front fork meets the frame.

Lightweight and ideal for indoor use
Does exactly what I needed around the house. Assembly was doable even with a broken foot, and the manufacturer video helped where instructions were unclear. The attached bag fits a small laptop and accessories. Seat height took a few tries to dial in; keep your spine upright while using it to avoid back strain. Not great for rough outdoor terrain, but excellent for malls and paved areas.

A far better alternative to crutches
Easy to assemble and feels very stable. The knee pad is cushioned and the adjustable heights made it simple to get comfortable. It folds for compact transport and the handbrakes are responsive. The included carry bag is handy for keeping essentials with you. Much easier to get around indoors than with crutches; I’d recommend it for anyone recovering from a foot or ankle injury.

Life-changing for home recovery
I waited to review because this scooter truly exceeded expectations. After switching from crutches I can move around the house independently—assembly took about ten minutes. It took a little practice to adjust the knee rest properly, but once set up it’s fast and stable. Brakes feel more than adequate for typical use.

Helpful after surgery, with a few caveats
This scooter became essential during my multi-month recovery after foot surgery. Assembly and fit adjustments took about 30 minutes with help. It rolls well on concrete but I lift slightly over larger bumps. The handlebars scratched during setup and I’d like an optional washable knee-cover. It fits in a car and is compact, though carrying it up stairs is cumbersome.

Solid value and easy to maneuver
Don’t get distracted by overly harsh criticisms—this isn’t an all-terrain vehicle but it outperforms crutches easily. At 6'2" I found the height adjustments worked well and it maneuvers smoothly indoors and on paved surfaces. It’s well built, comfortable, and simple to put together; good for daily use while healing a foot fracture.
