Expanding Black Dental Floss — Mint Eucalyptus, 80 Yards, Stain-Absorbing
Product description
Expands on contact: The floss is designed to start narrow and then expand when it meets saliva, increasing contact with tooth surfaces and interdental spaces to remove plaque where a brush can’t reach.
Black woven filament: The strand is black and woven, so particles and stains picked up during flossing are clearly visible as you go, giving immediate feedback on cleanliness.
Stain-absorbing formula: The fiber is formulated to help absorb surface stains from coffee, wine and other pigmented foods. A thin xylitol coating adds an extra layer of cavity protection and a mild minty sensation.
Materials and size: Each spool contains 80 yards of floss made from woven fibers with a xylitol finish. The floss is vegan and cruelty-free, without parabens, BPA, or PFAS.
Refillable, recycled case: The lightweight case is made from about 95% recycled plastic and is refillable to reduce single-use waste. Replacement floss bobbins can be swapped into the casing when a spool runs low.
How to use: Pull a comfortable length, guide the thin strand between teeth, then lower tension once positioned so the thread can expand and contact more surface area. Dispose of used floss and replace bobbins when finished.
Pros
- Expands to contact more tooth surface for better plaque removal
- Black color makes debris and stains easy to see
- Xylitol coating and stain-absorbing fibers help fight cavities and lift discoloration
Cons
- Thicker feel can be challenging in very tight spaces
- May catch or stick in crowded teeth
- Higher-cost perception compared with basic thin floss
VerdictThis expanding black floss delivers a deeper clean than thin white strings. It expands to reach more surface area, helps lift stains like coffee and wine, and its dark color makes debris easy to spot. The xylitol coating adds a cavity-fighting boost. It’s refillable and made with recyclable materials, though its thicker feel can be tricky in very tight contacts.

Perfect for tight contacts
My teeth are very close together so I need floss that can adapt. This one stretches to insert, then relaxes to expand and trap tiny particles. Leaves a pleasant minty sensation. Won’t be changing brands.

Won’t switch to anything else
I didn’t expect to love floss this much, but the expanding action actually cleans better than thin string. It’s comfortable, doesn’t irritate my gums, and my hygienist noticed a real improvement. Five stars from me.

Saved my gums after a scare
After a close call with periodontal issues I went all-in on better flossing. I tried several expanding types and came back to this one. Slightly textured and all-black so you can see results, with a mild minty note — I’m hooked.

Leaves a noticeably clean mouth
Much better than ultra-thin white floss. The darker, slightly thicker thread shows what it pulls out. I keep one in the car for snack-filled days — gives quick confidence before meetings or travel.

Switched from my old brand permanently
Stronger and thicker than what I used before, it doesn’t shear or fray and the expanding action cleans well. My crowded teeth sometimes make it catch, but I prefer that over a flimsy string that fails to remove debris.

Gentle with receding gums
This is the only floss I use now. With receding gums most floss hurts, but this slides without cutting and still clears beneath the gum line. The black color makes debris obvious, it doesn’t shred or get stuck, and there’s a light mint taste. A spool lasts me weeks and I keep a spare in my purse.

Thorough clean that I can feel
This floss has a secure grip and doesn’t slip between my fingers. It expands with saliva, contacting more of the tooth surface than thin floss, and the dark fiber confirms it’s working. A dab of toothpaste on the strand can make the clean feel even deeper.

Shocking — and oddly satisfying
I’ve become obsessed with flossing because the black thread reveals everything it pulls out. It’s thicker than many options and really excavates debris — gross but very satisfying. I actually look forward to flossing now.

Good, with minor caveats
I’d buy this again. It isn’t perfect for every tight gap, but it cleans effectively and seems free of harsh chemicals.

Finally found expanding floss
Works great. My partner is picky about floss and it was hard to find expanding options locally — this does the job well.
