Heavy-Duty 10x20 Tarp — Thick Waterproof Green Poly Cover
Product description
This product is a single 10 x 20 foot green tarp constructed from woven and coated polyethylene, with a nominal thickness of 10 mil. The tarp is double-sided and features heat-sealed seams for improved water resistance, and a rope-reinforced hem around the perimeter to help distribute load when tied down.
Aluminum grommets that resist rust are installed approximately every three feet along the edges for anchoring. The material is designed to be portable, washable, durable and reusable, making it suitable for repeated outdoor use.
Typical applications include covering yard and garden equipment, protecting tents, pools, sandboxes, boats, cars and other vehicles, and creating temporary camping shelters from wind, rain or sun. It can also be deployed as a sunshade or emergency roof patch, a truck-bed cover, or a debris-collection tarp.
Care is straightforward: hose off and let dry before storage. While robust for many everyday outdoor tasks, users should evaluate higher-thickness options if they need a long-term cover in very windy or severe climates.
Pros
- 10 mil double-sided woven polyethylene for solid waterproofing
- Heat-sealed seams and rope-reinforced hem for added strength
- Rustproof aluminum grommets placed for frequent tie-down points
Cons
- Grommet locations and seam finishing can be inconsistent
- Attachment points may tear in very high winds
- Not intended as a permanent roof replacement in extreme weather
VerdictThis 10x20, 10 mil polyethylene tarp is a solid all-purpose cover: waterproof, washable and reusable with reinforced hems and corrosion-resistant grommets. It performs well for shelter, gear and seasonal covers, and it’s noticeably thicker than lightweight alternatives. However, grommet placement and seam finishing can be inconsistent in some batches, and very strong gusts can damage the attachmen

One year of reliable gazebo protection
This tarp has been atop my gazebo for over a year and has survived all seasons with no leaks. It’s held up impressively well and I expect it to last even longer. Very happy with the performance so far.

Good resistance so far
So far it has held up to wind; I hope it also resists sun exposure. It’s generously sized.

Sturdy and sheds water well
Installed over a gazebo after the original cover blew off. This one is strong and doesn’t pond water like other covers I’ve tried.

Nice upgrade from cheap blue tarps
Feels heavy-duty and sturdier than the thin blue ones. The color looks good and it covers my pontoon bimini nicely, keeping the seats dry. Very satisfied.

Inconsistent measurements and construction — buyer beware
Grommet spacing varied (some about 36 inches, others closer to 40), and a few grommets sat off the edge. The heat seal began lifting across the tarp. I planned to add and reinforce grommets but not to rework the whole seal. For a 16 x 16 project this was not accurate. Can’t recommend.

Long-lasting shelter for a rusty shed
I covered an old shed (roof, back and side) with this tarp instead of replacing the roof. I weighted and secured the edges with bricks and it has stayed put through bad weather. After about four months it still looks nearly new — far better longevity than tarps I used to replace every few months.

Thicker and more durable than expected
Exactly what a tarp should feel like — thick yet manageable. I used it as a ground cover under a screen tent while camping and it worked perfectly. Dries fast and cleans easily.

Well made but grommets can fail in storms
Tarp material and construction are good, but grommets proved to be the weak link. I used it for shade and a strong thunderstorm ripped several grommets out. The sheet itself remains usable; it just wasn’t made to endure 60 mph gusts.

Held up about a year before wind damage
Compared to other tarps this was decent, but after roughly a year the wind tore it. I’m in a mild, rainy region with occasional strong winds, so I swapped it for a thicker 20 mil option. Overall not bad.

Not as long-lasting in harsher climates
Color matched expectations, but what’s termed 'heavy duty' here didn’t hold up well in Australian conditions — two holes after a month. Might be fine for short-term jobs but not for extended outdoor use.

Just installed, replacing a plastic sheet
Put it up to replace a plastic cover and to protect incoming polycarbonate panels. Waiting for rough weather, but it already looks like an improvement.

Size listed differently than received
The listing suggested 20 x 20 meters but the item I received is 20 x 20 feet (about 6 x 6 meters). Check the unit of measurement before ordering.
