Oxford Heaterz Premium Cruiser Heated Handlebar Grips — Temp Control
Product description
Key features include five selectable heat settings with LED indicators so you can see the level at a glance. The control electronics are compact and designed to draw under 4 amps, helping preserve battery life. Manufacturing uses automated processes and sonic welding for consistent joins, and the switch is rainproof with sealed, waterproof connectors rated for long-term use.
The grips are sized for 1" (25.4 mm) handlebars and use a soft, grippy rubber compound combined with thermoplastic rubber construction to absorb vibration and improve comfort. The bonded grip construction is proven in long-term use and resists wear. Silicone-sheathed cable assemblies stay flexible in very cold temperatures, and winter-grade wiring reduces the risk of cracking or shorting. The cable exits are angled to limit water ingress, and internal supports are heat-shrunk together to guard against snag damage.
Safety and convenience features include an intelligent controller that prevents battery drain by cutting power if system voltage drops to around 10.5 V. The design removes the need to run a fused ignition feed: simply attach the two ring terminals to the battery. The kit arrives with everything required for a standard fitment — wiring loom with ring terminals, waterproof plug connectors for the grips and switch, a mounting bracket for the controller, the handlebar switch, adhesive for the grips, and cable ties — all packaged together for a single-box install.
Intended uses span cruisers, ATVs, dirt bikes and other 1" bar applications, and the grips have been engineered for everyday riding in wet, cold conditions. While fitment is straightforward for most motorcycles, some models with unconventional throttle tubes may need custom fitting or adapters. The grips are robust and designed to outlast many stock rubber grips, offering a combination of durability and rider comfort for cold-weather commuting and leisure rides.
Pros
- Five adjustable heat levels with LED indicators
- Low-current draw and battery protection cutoff
- Weatherproof connectors and rainproof switch
Cons
- May require throttle-tube modification on some bikes
- Installation adhesive can bond permanently
- Right and left heat balance can vary on occasion
VerdictThese heated cruiser handlebar grips deliver strong, consistent warmth and a comfortable rubber compound that reduces vibration. The five heat settings and LED readout make it easy to dial in comfort across a range of conditions, and the controller’s low-voltage cutoff protects the battery. Installation is straightforward for most riders thanks to the plug-and-play connectors and supplied mounting

Well made but could use clearer instructions
Good feel and construction. The install guide lacked some detail. Also noticed the right grip seems hotter than the left during use.

Keeps winter rides comfortable
Riding in cold weather is far more bearable now. I use them with thin riding gloves and still retain good control. They heat up so much I rarely use max power. Perfect for cruisers, quads and snow vehicles.

Straightforward install, would buy again
They perform great after a couple of months. Palms stay warm; I still use warmer gloves for the back of the hands. Very easy to install with no bike modifications.

Works great in the cold
Took about an hour to fit. Instructions were clear and they perform very well in chilly conditions.

Toasty but logo misprinted
They keep hands warm in Canadian winters. Only oddity was the Oxford name printed backward on the left grip.

Mount bolts too short; item appeared used
Product is useful but arrived with short bolts and signs it had been returned. The fuse was blown before I started. Tip: test the elements and controller before gluing them in place.

Powerful but poor Kawasaki fitment
Bought for five Kawasaki cruisers across several years and none accepted the supplied throttle inserts. The kit shows a Kawasaki picture that isn’t accurate. Ended up using silicone filler and lots of effort; would prefer a proper Kawasaki sleeve included.

Excellent heat, throttle install was a pain
Throttle-side fitment on my 2019 Rebel 500 was tricky — the supplied Honda adapter didn’t hold and I had to wrap and tap the grip on, trimming excess plastic to stop sticking. Controller mounted fine and both grips heat well once fitted.

Warm hands, easy fit after replacement ship
First shipment didn’t arrive, second one did quickly. Simple to install, they look good and have been a relief for my arthritic hands.

Comfortable and reliable, minor tie-wrap issues
Comfortable, controls are easy to use and installation went smoothly on my Yamaha snow blower after trimming. Would recommend, though I wished the cable ties were a bit stronger.

Hot enough to be a concern — adhesive warning
Fitted to a Harley Sportster 1" bar — they get extremely hot at max and feel great. The supplied adhesive bonds strongly; use sparingly if you may want to remove the grips later.

Good match for Sportster XL1200C
After research this was the model that fit my XL1200C. Installation was straightforward; I tied into a relay switched by ignition. The HD insert in the kit worked perfectly with the throttle.
