Pack of 40 Sterile Plastic Petri Dishes (90×15 mm) with Lids + 20 Pipettes
Product description
Product overview: This kit contains forty clear plastic petri dishes, each 90 mm in diameter and 15 mm tall, with matching snap-on lids. Also included are twenty disposable 2 ml plastic transfer pipettes provided sterile for immediate use. The set arrives in purple-branded protective packaging rather than loose wrapping to help prevent damage during shipping.
Materials and construction: The dishes are molded from transparent plastic designed to be smoother and less fragile than thin glass plates. Lids fit securely for short-term containment and observation. The included pipettes are single-use, lightweight plastic, suitable for moving small liquid samples without cross-contamination when used appropriately.
Intended uses: These plates work well for growing agar cultures, basic bacteriology demonstrations, mycology projects such as small-scale mushroom agar plates, seed germination trials, classroom science activities, and general sample handling. They are intended for disposable, room-temperature procedures and routine observational work rather than repeated high-heat sterilization.
Packaging and quality control: The set is supplied sealed and inspected to ensure sterility of included pipettes and overall kit integrity. The rigid branded box offers better protection than loose poly bags during transit, and the dishes are stackable for compact storage. While more durable than very thin glass in many handling scenarios, they are not designed to be autoclavable or impact-proof.

Perfect for students
Worked very well for my classes — easy for students to observe and handle safely.

Poor heat tolerance
Sealed packaging looked promising, but hot agar caused several plates to fuse together and many broke when I tried to separate them. That ruined a batch and was frustrating to deal with.

Consistent pouring surface
These didn’t warp when I poured agar, unlike other brands I’ve tried. I’ll keep buying them while quality stays consistent.

Met expectations
Performed like other standard plastic plates I’ve used. They’re decent quality, stack neatly, and I’ve grown several successful cultures with them.

Reliable for projects
I’ve used hundreds for mycology and field trials without major problems. They’re not indestructible, so handle with care.

Good for party props
Bought these to make Jell‑O shot ‘petri dishes’ for Halloween and they behaved exactly as needed.

Sterile and well packed
Plates arrived sterile and protected in their box and felt sturdier than thin disposables. They’re not unbreakable, but the sterilized pipettes and sealed packaging gave me confidence for classroom use. Some concerns about sterilization residue are overstated; commonly used gas sterilants dissipate after processing.

Handle carefully
Lids cracked when I pressed too hard trying to seal with parafilm. Also not suitable for autoclaving—they won’t survive high temperatures.
