You will receive a minimum of 30 dwarf white isopods, consisting of a mix of small adults, juveniles and tiny babies, plus a colony of mixed springtail eggs housed in living bioactive soil. The springtails and isopods arrive together in roughly one cup of soil that contains microbiota to help break down organic waste.
These isopods are sold as micro‑feeders meant for established or starter bioactive setups. They consume uneaten food, decaying plant material, shed skins and other detritus, helping maintain substrate health and reduce mold and foul buildup. Dwarf whites are small and tend to be active across wood, rocks, and leaf litter; because their sizes vary, they can reproduce and build a sustainable colony over time.
Shipping safety is emphasized: do not order if the five‑day forecast for transit goes below 20°F or above 95°F, since extreme temperatures can be fatal to these animals. Packages are prepared carefully to protect the inhabitants during transport, and buyers receive basic care instructions to help the colony acclimate to its new enclosure.
