Pool & Spa Floating 1-inch Tablet Dispenser (Chlorine/Bromine)
Product description
This floating dispenser is a round plastic unit about 5 inches in diameter with a collapsible internal chamber that accepts up to five 1-inch chlorine or bromine tablets. The tank is designed to float at the waterline so tablets dissolve gradually rather than dumping concentrated chemical directly into the pool.
A twist-adjustable control ring at the base allows you to set the size of the openings that let the chemical enter the water, so you can slow the release for low-use periods or open it up for heavier sanitizing. The top unscrews or lifts off to load tablets, and the internal chamber compresses slightly to accommodate the tablets securely.
Constructed from molded plastic, the unit is lightweight for buoyancy but built to withstand routine handling and refilling. It’s intended for use in both above-ground and small in-ground pools as well as spas, and can also be repurposed for other standing-water applications where slow-release halogen sanitation is helpful.
To use, place one or more 1-inch tablets inside the chamber, set the control ring to the desired flow setting, and float the dispenser in the water. Periodically check the tablet level and adjust the ring or add new tablets as needed to maintain the proper sanitizer level.
Pros
- Adjustable flow ring for controlled tablet release
- Holds multiple 1-inch tablets at once
- Lightweight and easy to refill
Cons
- Plastic can fatigue after prolonged sun and chemical exposure
- Top locking tabs may break on some units
- Small size may not suit larger tablets
VerdictA simple, lightweight floating dispenser that reliably meters 1-inch chlorine or bromine tabs into small pools and hot tubs. It offers an adjustable outlet for slower or faster tablet dissolution and is easy to refill. Durability can be mixed when exposed to strong sun and chemicals for long seasons, but for routine short-term use it performs well and keeps water sanitized without daily manual dos

Straightforward and easy to use
This floater is uncomplicated and does the job: holds 1-inch chlorine or bromine tablets securely and stays buoyant. The adjustable opening makes it simple to regulate how quickly the tablets dissolve. Lightweight yet sufficiently robust for routine pool use, and refilling is quick. A handy way to distribute sanitizer without manual dosing every time.

Disappointingly small and low quality
Too small for my needs and feels cheaply made. For the price there are larger, sturdier options elsewhere.

Works well and holds a few tabs
Perfect for one-inch chlorine tablets in my small pool setup. Fits about five but I usually use two at a time. It performs reliably and I’ve been happy with the build and results — would recommend for similar uses.

Good for a season of use
I’ve used two of these over a few seasons in a 7,500‑gal above-ground pool. On full-open they keep my chlorine steady and I top up tablets every few days. The first unit lost its cap tabs and the second developed a small crack and began to list — likely from sun and chemical exposure. Decent value if you expect yearly replacement.

Unexpectedly useful in a toilet tank
Tried it for a different task and it worked great. I placed a small bromine tablet inside and floated it in my toilet tank to combat heavy iron-fed mold. After a few days the discoloration started clearing and within a month the tank was clean without scrubbing. Easy to refill and sits at the top of the tank where it slowly releases the sanitizer.

Too small for some tablet sizes
Didn’t meet my expectations because the floater was much smaller than I thought and the tablets I ordered separately didn’t fit. Be sure your tablets are the one-inch size before buying.

Compact but effective for a kiddie pool
Bought this for a 10-foot kids’ pool without a filter. At first the size surprised me, but it kept the water non-slip and clear. I break a 3-inch tablet into pieces to refill, and one tablet lasts about a month. No cracks so far; feels solid and I’ll buy another if needed.

Whatever 5/5
Basic design that performs — until a tab broke
No frills: unscrew the top, insert a tablet, and it orients itself correctly on the water. Worked fine for a couple of months, then one of the small cap tabs that locks the lid snapped off. The bayonet-style cap relies on those tabs; with one gone it still functions but the lid isn’t as secure. Could be a material flaw or chemical wear.
