Red Candle Dye Chips — 10-Pack for Soy & Paraffin Candles
Product description
Made in the USA and sold as a 10-count pack, these red candle dye chips arrive as uniformly cut diamond-shaped pieces so each chip weighs and shades consistently from batch to batch.
The dye chips are formulated for use with paraffin and vegetable-based waxes. For dosing guidance, use roughly one chip per pound of paraffin or two chips per pound of soy wax; add chips to wax heated to about 165–185°F and stir until fully dissolved. No scale or spoons are required, making them friendly for beginners.
Highly concentrated wax coloring means a little delivers strong pigment. The chips melt quickly and integrate without clumping or streaking; opaque bases such as soy will show softer tones, while paraffin displays fuller intensity.
They’re compatible with many waxes — paraffin, soy, coconut, palm and blended formulas — and suitable for container candles, pillars, votives, tealights, jars, wax melts and tarts. Two colors can be blended to create custom shades.
The chips are non-toxic, vegan and virtually odorless so they shouldn’t interfere with fragrance or scent throw. This red variant is one of a wider palette of roughly 20 colors available in several pack sizes (10, 25 and 50) aimed at hobbyists and small-batch makers.
Pros
- Pre-measured, consistent diamond-shaped chips
- Concentrated pigment melts smoothly with no streaks
- Compatible with many wax types and candle formats
Cons
- Smaller pack count for heavier production
- Lighter shades can shift with certain soy additives
- Some colors are slightly translucent in finish
VerdictThese red wax dye chips give concentrated, reliable color for a range of candle types. They’re simple to use, dissolve cleanly in melted wax, and are a convenient option when you want repeatable shades without liquid measuring. Lighter hues may need testing with some soy additives, and chip count is modest for heavy production.

Worked well for my candles and I'll be using them again. Simple to use and consistent results; I plan to purchase another pack.

Exactly the brown I needed for root beer candles
I was aiming for a true brown for root beer-scented candles and these delivered on the first try. Followed the package guideline, they dissolved cleanly and the color matched what I wanted. Packaging and instructions were clear, and one pack dyes a fair amount of wax—very pleased.

Nice pale pink with beeswax
Used four pale pink chips in eight ounces of white beeswax and the result was exactly what I wanted. The chips melted and blended smoothly and produced a soft, even shade.

Tiny package, impressively strong green
The package is quite small but the color payoff is huge. I made four soy candles using six chips (I wanted them a touch darker) and achieved a deep green perfect for my holiday line. The pieces are small but highly concentrated and melted easily at about 170°F.

Very strong pigment — a little goes far
These give rich brown tones with only a small amount. The pigment strength means you can use minimal chips to reach the depth you want.

Adorable for light mauve candles
Perfect for pale mauve: the shade is very soft, which was ideal for my look. If you need a deep pink, opt for a stronger pink variant.

Good color though fewer chips than expected
There were fewer chips in the pack than I anticipated and I needed to break some to do smaller pours, but the resulting color was exactly what I wanted. I would buy these again.

Good pink color but pack count felt low
The pink chips did tint my wax nicely when I added them conservatively, but the pack contained fewer chips than I expected. Aside from the small quantity, they performed as described.

Highly concentrated and economical versus liquids
These chips pack a lot of pigment and work well in both paraffin and soy. Remember soy needs two to three times more chips than paraffin. They’re more economical than liquid dyes, though liquids let you fine-tune exact custom hues if you need precision.

Perfect brown for tough-to-dye wax
This brown shade worked well on a wax that’s usually difficult to color. The tone came out even and true.

Potent but slightly translucent finish
Very effective coloring, though the finish is a bit translucent—won’t mimic the look of solid sealing wax. Still performs well overall.

Color issue resolved after company follow-up
UPDATE: After I flagged a problem with the yellow turning peach, the manufacturer reached out. They explained that lighter shades can react with soy that contains a universal additive. They sent alternative wax and fresh chips and the yellow came out correctly. Original: I tried yellow at 2 chips per pound of soy and the finished candles shifted toward an orange-pink as they cooled.
