Athlon Ares UHD 15-45x65 Spotting Scope — Straight-Body Optic
Product description
Optical package and accessories: This spotting scope comes with a removable eyepiece that can be swapped for a reticle-style ocular when precision aiming is required. The kit includes standard protective caps and typically ships with a soft protective cover to guard the body during transport.
Build and materials: The Ares UHD uses a full-metal chassis that is internally purged with argon gas to help prevent internal fogging and moisture intrusion. Lenses are engineered from extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to reduce chromatic aberration, while BaK4 prisms with ESP dielectric coatings and additional XPL coatings boost light transmission and contrast.
Size and configuration: The optic offers a 15-45x magnification range with a 65 mm objective, in a straight-body format that suits spotting from a tripod. The physical design is built to handle outdoor use and comes in a green/black finish that blends into natural settings.
Performance and use cases: Its optical formula prioritizes clarity and brightness, making it suitable for target shooting at the range, hunting observation, and bird watching. The removable eyepiece allows quick adaptation between general viewing and precision spotting with reticles.
Durability and warranty: The product is tested for waterproofing, fog resistance, and impact tolerance to meet rigorous quality checks, and accessory coverage is backed by a lifetime warranty on qualifying items.

Flexible eyepiece and very clear optics
I like that the eyepiece can be swapped for a reticle unit. Image sharpness is impressive for this class. Focusing is quick and intuitive. I only wish there were a similar option with a larger 85 mm objective.

Impressive glass for the line
Outperforms other mid-range models I’ve tried. It’s a bit on the heavy side, but the optical quality clearly stands out.

Good mid-range spotter for field use
I owned a larger, heavier 20-60x85 model before and wanted something lighter for trips. This 15-45x65 hits the sweet spot around 30x for me, is noticeably lighter, and has nearly the same clarity. Magnification adjustment is smooth, and it includes a neoprene-style protective cover. If you want a capable mid-range scope for under standard premium alternatives, this is a solid pick.
