Prozor 192kHz Digital-to-Analog Audio Converter (Toslink/Coax to RCA/3.5mm)
Product description
This compact digital-to-analog converter accepts either an optical (Toslink) or a coaxial (RCA SPDIF) digital PCM input and outputs simultaneous analog audio on left/right RCA jacks plus a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. The unit supports up to 192kHz sampling at 24-bit resolution and handles common sample rates including 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz and 192kHz. It decodes a 24-bit SPDIF incoming bitstream and mutes automatically when a non-audio or absent signal is detected to reduce noise.
The housing is made from an aluminum alloy with a textured finish for durability and heat resistance. All signal connectors are gold-plated to minimize contact loss. Front-panel controls include a rotary volume knob for quick output adjustment; the device outputs analog L/R simultaneously to RCA and the 3.5mm jack (the input and output directions cannot be reversed).
Power is supplied via the included USB power cable; a 5V, 1A USB source is required (power adapter not supplied). A 1 meter Toslink optical cable is packed with the unit for immediate hookup. Typical uses include connecting modern TVs, computers, game consoles, or CD transports with digital outputs to analog amplifiers, powered speakers, or headphones.
Setup is simple: plug the digital source into the optical or coaxial input, connect the RCA or 3.5mm outputs to your amplifier or headphones, attach the USB power lead, then set the volume with the front knob. Ideal for situations where a dedicated headphone jack or analog outputs are missing, or when a straightforward external DAC is desired without complex drivers or configuration.
Pros
- Supports up to 192kHz/24-bit PCM and common sample rates
- Aluminum casing with gold-plated connectors for durability
- Front-panel volume control and simultaneous RCA + 3.5mm outputs
Cons
- Requires a 5V 1A USB power source; adapter not included
- Some users report occasional interference or power-up delays
- Not a high-end audiophile DAC; intended as a practical converter
VerdictA small, affordable 192kHz DAC that delivers clear, usable analog audio from TVs, computers, and digital sources. Build quality and features — aluminum casing, gold-plated jacks, and a front volume knob — make it a practical upgrade for setups lacking a headphone or analog out. Many users praise its headphone drive and easy setup; a minority report power-up quirks or occasional interference. Best

Brought my older headphones back to life with new TV
Replaced a TV that lost its 3.5mm output and this converter restored headphone capability. It behaves like a native analog jack: clean audio, no extra hiss, and the volume knob is handy. I attached it to the TV’s rear with double-sided tape and powered it from the TV’s USB port—works perfectly.

Clear, high-fidelity conversion from digital sources
Used this DAC to connect a CD transport via Toslink to my amplifier. The 192kHz converter delivered clean, high-fidelity output and worked perfectly with my rig.

Well made but RCA output level could be higher
Audio clarity is impressive for the price tier, but the RCA output doesn’t reach the advertised 3V in my system. The output level tops out around the halfway point of the knob, so I couldn’t get the gain I wanted for my HiFi aux input.

Great for connecting headphones to modern TVs
Well-built and compact, this converter lets me use my Audio-Technica cans with a 4K TV that only offers optical out. The included optical cable hooks up easily, the front knob adjusts level smoothly, and it has enough power to drive heavier headphones and external speakers.

Unreliable power-up and occasional crackling
I chose the USB-powered model for convenience with my console, but it often fails to initialize unless I unplug and replug the power. With deep bass there’s sometimes crackling, and raising the unit’s volume can make it worse. Overall it caused more hassle than it solved for me.

Cleaned up my music with minimal noise
Hooked up via optical and my music sounded much clearer with almost no background noise. A very positive improvement.

Does what it says with minor interference in some setups
Used this with a TV lacking a headphone jack; it provided clean headphone output and the volume knob is convenient since TV volume control may no longer work while connected. I detected faint interference in one placement, but it was barely noticeable during programs.

Solid construction and plenty of headphone drive
The shell is formed metal with a neat textured finish and clear markings. I used the optical input to get a headphone feed from my TV; the adjustable output powered my heavy AKG K340 cans fine. The device runs from 5V USB and the package included the USB lead; I had to add a 3.5mm-to-1/4" adapter to fit my headphones.

Useful for MacBook optical out — check compatibility first
I connected this to an early 2015 13" MacBook Pro (mini Toslink) and routed audio to JBL studio monitors via the DAC. macOS reports S/PDIF Optical Digital Audio Output if your machine supports it; you will need a mini-Toslink to Toslink cable to link the laptop to this converter.

Exceeded expectations from a compact desktop DAC
I’m not an audiophile but have owned quality equipment for decades. After downsizing to a desktop setup with near-field Kef speakers and a tube amp, I wanted a simple external DAC with Toslink input. This unit surprised me with its sound and reliability. Initially intended as a temporary bridge, it’s stayed in my chain because it sounds clear and is easy to use.

Good idea, but had compatibility headaches elsewhere
Bought a DAC to get headphone audio from a TV that lacks a jack. I tried another converter first and it wouldn’t work properly with that TV, which was frustrating. The review here is to remind buyers that results can vary by TV model and source configuration.
