CR Touch Auto Bed-Leveling Sensor Kit for Creality 3D Printers
Product description
This kit provides an automatic bed-leveling sensor with a metal push probe designed for Creality 3D printers. The package includes the CR Touch sensor assembly, a set of three different mounting brackets to suit multiple carriage designs, and the cable required to connect to a compatible mainboard. The probe uses a metal plunger for actuation, which Creality rates for long life and repeated use — the mechanism is designed for tens of thousands of actuations.
The sensor performs multi-point probing across the build surface and records the height at each probe location so the printer can compensate in Z during prints. It is compatible with a range of bed surfaces including PEI, sticker-style covers, standard glass, and metal plates; the metal probe is less susceptible to heat-related wear than plastic versions.
To enable the sensor you must install a matching mounting bracket on your printer, remove or disable the existing Z endstop switch as required by your machine, and install firmware that supports the CR Touch. Creality publishes firmware builds for supported boards; copy the correct firmware file for your model and motherboard to an SD card and apply the update with the printer powered on. Make sure you confirm your board revision before flashing.
Compatibility is broad for many Creality models: Ender 3, Ender 3 Pro, Ender 3 V2, Ender 3 Max, Ender 5, Ender 5 Pro, Ender 5S and CR-10 series when the printer uses a 32-bit V4.2.2 or V4.2.7 mainboard. This kit is not compatible with some alternative controller boards such as SKR Mini E3 V3 on certain Ender 5 variants. The sensor’s simple mechanical design and included mounting options aim to make installation adaptable across several builds, while the firmware and wiring steps require care to ensure proper operation.
Pros
- Durable metal probe for long service life
- Multi-point probing improves first-layer consistency
- Multiple mounting brackets for many Creality models
Cons
- Firmware flashing can be complicated and risky
- Requires specific 32-bit mainboard versions
- Ribbon cable and wiring can feel fragile
VerdictSolid hardware that improves print consistency, especially on Ender-series and CR-10 machines with compatible 32-bit mainboards. Installation and firmware flashing can be tricky for beginners and improper firmware can cause serious issues, so follow guides and confirm your motherboard version before installing.

Great upgrade if you’re prepared to flash firmware
I’d tried other probes without luck, but this one worked well with a Sprite extruder setup where wiring was already accessible. Expect to flash or update firmware; plenty of step-by-step videos make that manageable. The result is a reliable probe and better prints.

Failed after a few weeks; support unresponsive
Worked fine initially but the probe deployed during a print and got damaged; now it only flashes red and won’t deploy. Attempts to get help through the vendor’s support channels went unanswered. If longevity and support matter, be cautious.

Huge improvement for my Ender 3 V2
Installing this eliminated the constant manual bed tweaking. Probing is quick and consistent and my first layers are much more even, especially in the corners. Setup was straightforward; remember to disable the Z endstop if the instructions require it.

Plug-and-play on my Ender 3 V2
Installed on an Ender 3 V2 and it worked without fuss after following the instructions. Probing and leveling ran fine right away.

Five stars mostly for included mounting plates
The probe itself is fine, but what stood out were the several thoughtful mounting brackets that made installation easy alongside other upgrades I was doing. The metal plunger is preferable for heated beds compared with plastic probes.

Replaced a faulty unit — rough removal but now working
I swapped this in for the CR Touch on my Neo Max after the old one stopped homing. The old wiring was glued down and took ages to free; the sensor blinked red until I repaired a loose lead. I trimmed back the braided sleeve, cleaned glue from the connector side, tied wires securely and fitted the new unit. It may have had a slightly bent pin originally, but after the swap everything probes correctly.

Saves time and removes guesswork
I used to prop the glass with scraps to correct a low center; the sensor compensates across the bed so I no longer need that workaround. It saved time troubleshooting print issues and stabilised first layers.

Essential upgrade for many printers
If you don’t already have an auto-leveling sensor, this is a major convenience. Installation felt simple to me and it corrected prints that used to fail; highly recommended for most hobbyists.

Does its job — auto-leveling made easier
The sensor reliably probes multiple points and helps keep the nozzle at the right height for consistent first layers. Installation is straightforward if you follow a guide for your model. Works with many Ender machines once the right firmware is installed.

Worth it if you can handle the firmware work
Installation is manageable mechanically, but firmware flashing is the tricky part. Watch good tutorials and follow steps precisely. Remember this compensates for minor bed irregularities rather than replacing a properly leveled surface.

Product works but a promised extra was missing
The sensor arrived and functions as expected, but I was disappointed that the advertised nozzle kit wasn’t included. Otherwise the device itself is solid.

Excellent hardware, but firmware risks exist
The sensor assembly and probe are high quality; only the ribbon cable seems a bit exposed and needs neat routing. Official firmware options were confusing and early versions caused serious boot problems for me. Community-compiled firmware fixed the issues after some searching.

Firmware update caused display and card issues
After flashing Creality firmware my Ender 3 Pro’s screen became illegible and SD card access was flaky. The probe itself responds, but the user interface was damaged. I’m weighing a motherboard swap to resolve it.
