Dryer Vent Duct Cleaning Kit — Gardus LintEater RLE202 Rotary System
Product description
The Gardus LintEater RLE202 is a 10-piece rotary dryer vent cleaning kit built for homeowners who want to remove lint and obstructions from dryer exhausts without hiring a pro. The system is centered on four screw-connect flexible rods, each 36 inches long. When joined, the rods extend the brush reach up to 12 feet from one access point; further reach is possible with separately available extension kits for very long runs.
Included tools let you tackle a range of tasks: a self-feeding 4-inch auger brush that turns as the rods spin and is designed to navigate common bends, a 2.5-inch diameter lint trap brush (which measures roughly 42 inches when attached to a single rod) for cleaning lint screens and shallow cavities, and a blockage removal tool for nests or compacted material. The kit also contains a vacuum adapter to plug into a shop vacuum and a dryer/blower adapter so the dryer’s airflow or an electric blower can be used to evacuate loosened lint. An illustrated operator’s manual provides safety guidance and step-by-step assembly instructions.
The rods screw together and rotate when attached to a cordless drill (drill not included), allowing the auger brush to scour the vent interior and dislodge accumulated lint from metal, foil and white vinyl ducts. As lint is loosened, the vacuum or dryer/blower adapter can be used to pull it out of the system, reducing the chance that debris is simply pushed further down the line. The self-feeding brush design helps the head advance through twists and turns common in residential vents while the blockage tool is intended for more severe jams such as animal nests or compacted lint.
Materials and construction focus on flexibility and durability for typical household vent configurations. The kit is intended for periodic maintenance: regular cleaning can reduce drying times, lower energy use and cut the risk of dryer-related fires. For very long vent runs, Gardus offers optional 12-foot extension rods so the same rotary system can cover runs beyond the default 12-foot reach.
Pros
- Comes with brushes, blockage tool and adapters for a full cleaning session
- Flexible rods and self-feeding auger handle many bends and turns

Rods flex through elbows and clean well
I used an inspection camera before and after and the result was dramatic. The rods flexed through elbows and the brush reached into tight spots. It also includes a smaller brush for narrow areas. I expect this kit to last for many cleanings.

Broke during use
The tool snapped while I was using it and I couldn’t get any helpful support. Disappointed — it failed in normal use.

Cleared a 20-foot run with tight turns
Started from a second-floor dryer with two immediate 90-degree turns, then a long straight run. The brush cleared a heavy blockage that I confirmed with a leaf blower. I secured threads with a bit of Loctite and tape, and used pliers to keep joints tight but not over-torqued.

Works but some usability annoyances
The system does what it promises and handled elbows and flex hose, but the vacuum adapter didn’t match my shop vac without extra tape. Also the rod joints are very tight after use and needed two pliers to separate. Still, performance is excellent when you can manage those hassles.

Excellent reach — follow the operating tips
I cleaned a roughly 30-foot run using the extension kit and got to the end, but you must follow these rules: never reverse while inside the vent, keep rods straight to avoid kinking, use the narrower brush for tight spots first, and have pliers handy to disconnect sections.

Simple overall — manual could be clearer
Bought it months ago and finally cleaned a 15-foot run. The instruction booklet is very detailed but could be simplified. Quick tips that helped me: tape and secure joints, use a drill clutch on low to start, and progress slowly to avoid kinking the rods.

16 years without checking — huge lint surprise
We lived in our house 16 years and never inspected the ducts. When we pulled the dryer out to replace appliances I was stunned to find the short connector nearly packed solid with lint. That led me to buy this kit to see what the hidden run looked like. Our vent was about 30 feet long and the kit gave us a way to access and clean a lot of material we couldn't reach before.

Worked on awkward vinyl runs with bends
My home used white vinyl duct routed under a tub with at least two 90-degree bends and about 18 feet of run. This kit penetrated the bends and removed lots of trapped debris. The long skinny brush is also handy for getting dust from under appliances.

So effective you’ll want to tell neighbors
My dryer stopped drying like it used to. With dogs in the house lint and hair were everywhere. The kit exposed a big buildup and cleared it out; drying performance returned. The initial check of the outside vent is crucial and the brushes handled the job well.

Cleared a nest — dramatic improvement, heed the warnings
After taking the plunge I found what looked like nest material and clumps of debris. Once removed, the dryer was like new. Two cautions: read the manual carefully and avoid reversing the drill when the brush is inside, and stop if the rods begin to wind up or bend.

Did the job, saved time and money
Spent about an hour doing the whole task. It was straightforward, cleared a lot of lint, and got my dryer drying much faster. Using a shop vac to pull debris while I brushed worked very well. The kit was far cheaper than hiring a technician.

Handled a tall pedestal installation with extensions
I raised a front-loader on a 15" pedestal and had to reroute the vent higher in a 17-foot interior run that vents through the roof. After cutting the duct I found significant lint accumulation. I bought the extension pack to reach beyond the 12' rods. The components felt solid and the brushes cleaned well through the run.

Gave us peace of mind about dryer fire risk
A neighbor had a pro use this same system and recommended it. We added extension rods for our long run and pulled out a ton of lint and debris. Dry times shortened and we feel safer knowing the vent is clear. The only hiccup was some early tendency for the rod to twist — stepping back a bit with the drill solved it.
