FXW Rollick 32-inch Dog Playpen — 8-Panel Metal Play Area with Washable Pad
Product description
What you get: An eight-panel metal playpen that stands 32 inches tall and a washable absorbent pad sized to fit the pen floor. The set is intended for small and medium dogs and is marketed for puppy training, short-term confinement, and portable play areas.
Construction and hardware: The fence panels are metal with a powder-coated finish to resist rust and wear. Each panel connects with rod-style fasteners and the securing stakes are designed to be pushed into the ground or held in place on indoor surfaces. The panel tops are rounded with ball ends to reduce the chance of snagged claws. The door uses an automatic gravity-operated lock to help prevent accidental openings.
Assembly and configuration: The rod-connected design lets most users assemble the pen in under five minutes and collapse it just as quickly. Panels can be added or removed for different shapes and footprints, allowing you to fit the enclosure to patios, RVs, living rooms, or hallways. For indoor use, placing the pen on a rug, carpet, floor protectors, or the included washable pad can prevent scratching and protect flooring.
Use and care: The washable pad is made to absorb and speed cleanup; it launderes rather than acting as a fully impermeable barrier. The powder coat and durable rods make the unit suitable for outdoor activities like camping and backyard containment, while the quick setup and compact packing make it handy for travel. Supervision is still recommended for heavy chewers or escape artists.
Pros
- Sturdy powder-coated metal panels
- Fast assembly and configurable layout
- Comes with a washable absorbent pad
Cons
- Pad absorbs but isn’t fully waterproof
- Tall footprint may not fit very low ceilings
- Occasional shipment or missing-pad problems reported
VerdictA robust, flexible containment solution for puppies and small-to-medium dogs. The powder-coated metal panels and stake-style rods make the pen steady outdoors while the rounded tops and gravity lock add safety indoors. It assembles rapidly and can be reshaped by adding or removing panels. The included washable absorbent pad helps with cleanup, though it is more absorbent than fully waterproof. Ove

Performs a lot better than I imagined. I’d recommend it to anyone bringing home a new puppy.

Easy setup but pad missing in my box
Setup was simple and the pup enjoys the view; cleanup is straightforward. However, the washable pad that was supposed to come with the set wasn’t in my shipment and I had to buy one separately, which was disappointing.

Solid and dependable for multiple pups
Very sturdy construction — I have six seven-week-old pit mixes in it while fostering. The mother can step away and the pups can nap or romp comfortably. Customer service was responsive when the pad and pen arrived on different days. I liked it so much I’m getting another, slightly shorter one for a second area.

Great combo for routine
The pen and mat combination has been ideal. My puppy goes in and out at will and now recognizes when it’s bedtime.

Not fully waterproof, still useful
I assumed the washable pad was waterproof but it’s mainly absorbent. We covered it with disposables for weeks; when the puppy soaked through once, I found urine on the floor beneath. The puddle was small and I caught it quickly. The pen itself has been very helpful during crate and house training.
