PEC Tools 6 Inch Absolute Digital Caliper with 6 Inch 4R Rule
Product description
Industrial-grade protection and sensor design: The caliper is built to IP67 standards, so its electronics are sealed against water, oil and coolant exposure. It uses a 4th-generation inductive sensor with fully sealed circuitry to preserve stable, repeatable readings even in dusty, oily or vibration-prone settings.
Material and hardening: The measuring slide and jaws are machined from premium stainless steel that has been vacuum-quenched to a hardness of HRC ≥ 52.5. The hardened construction improves wear resistance and extends service life in heavy-use environments.
Accuracy and jaw finish: The 6 inch (150 mm) caliper is specified to ±0.001" / 0.02 mm accuracy. Jaws are finely ground with jaw parallelism held to ≤ 0.015 mm to support precise external and internal measurements. The instrument provides absolute position readings and straightforward unit switching between inches, millimeters and fraction/decimal formats.
What’s included: The package pairs the 6" absolute digital caliper with a 6" 4R steel rule and ships in a robust, eco-conscious storage case for transport and protection. Accessories and packaging are intended to keep the tool secure for professionals who move between job sites.
Typical uses: Designed for machining, automotive, metalworking, toolmaking and woodworking, the caliper’s sealed sensor and hardened stainless-steel construction make it a practical choice for both shop benches and shop floors where fluids, chips and grime are common.

Functional but some design annoyances
The display module is larger than expected and the thumbwheel has some play. The battery tray uses tiny screws that are easy to lose, though it did arrive with spare screws and two small drivers. Appears accurate, but finish doesn’t match premium brands; origin labeling is unclear.

Wish I'd grabbed this sooner
I've used it for woodworking and general shop tasks—much faster than eyeballing tiny etched marks on older mechanical calipers. The digital readout and quick switching between decimals, fractions and mm save conversion time. I opted for the IP67 version for added peace of mind; haven't had a chance to fully test that feature yet, but build quality feels solid.

Satisfied so far
No problems after multiple projects—readings have been consistent and I haven’t detected errors. The digital display makes measurements easy to read, though it does mean you'll be dependent on batteries; the original cell has lasted so far.

High-quality instrument
A precision tool that performs like higher-priced units. Good functionality and build—claims of US manufacture were cited by the seller and reflected in the fit and finish I received.

Made in USA — great value
Marked as made in the USA and feels high quality at a very reasonable cost. Agree with other reviewers that this offers many features of pricier name-brand models for a fraction of the price.
