Stainless Steel Spaghetti Strainer Spoon with Wooden Hook (4.4×4.6×14.7 in)
Product description
What you get: a deep, rounded strainer basket attached to a wooden-handled stem that ends in a hook for suspending the tool in a pot. The unit’s overall footprint is roughly 4.4 × 4.6 inches across the basket and about 14.7 inches long from handle tip to basket rim.
Materials and care: the skimmer basket and shaft are stainless steel for rust resistance and easy rinsing. The handle is wood, chosen to reduce heat transfer and provide a comfortable grip. Clean by rinsing under running water; the shape also allows for quick hand washing.
Design and capacities: the basket has a deep, perforated bowl that holds a small serving of pasta, dumplings or vegetables. It’s suitable for rinsing, straining, steaming, blanching and portion-cooking without dunking or lifting a whole pot.
How it’s used: drop noodles or dumplings into boiling water that fits the basket, let them cook, lift the basket to drain, then transfer to a bowl. The wooden hook can rest on the side of a deep pot so the basket stays suspended while straining or heating.
Pros
- Compact for single portions
- Wooden handle reduces heat transfer
- Easy to rinse and store
Cons
- Basket diameter is on the small side
- Mesh metal is relatively thin
- Not ideal for very long pasta
VerdictA simple, space-saving tool for cooking individual portions of pasta or noodles. The stainless construction washes clean easily, while the wooden handle keeps your hand insulated and lets you suspend the basket in a deep pot. Good for nests, ravioli and single-serve servings, though the mesh is relatively fine and the diameter modest.

Good for long pasta with patience
It does the job. Getting long strands into the basket takes a bit of maneuvering while they cook, but it strains effectively. Consider a larger size if you often cook family portions.

A bit underwhelming on quality
The handle and size are fine, but the basket arrived slightly bent and the mesh feels thin. I straightened it enough to use, but I wouldn’t repurchase.

Works well, could be bigger
Handles most noodle types without issue, but I wish the basket were wider to hold larger portions.

Perfect small-batch pasta cooker
Exactly what I wanted for one- or two-person servings. Ran it through the dishwasher after using it for breakfast pappardelle and it came out fine.

Looks like a decent portion size
Haven’t used it yet, but it seems roomy enough to serve a reasonable single portion of pasta.

Useful for canning and small batches
I plan to use this to process pint jars when I make jam from my fruit trees. It lets me use less water and keeps the kitchen cooler while still handling small jobs well.

Bought a second for ramen nights
After a trip to Japan I wanted to make ramen at home. I liked the first so much I bought another to cook two bowls at once in a 12 qt pot. Cleans easily and gives consistently great noodles.

Finally grabbed one
I waited a long time to buy this and now wonder why I hesitated. It’s perfect for small portions — dried pasta nests, ravioli and dumplings — without filling a huge pot. I gently shook the basket and used a spoon to separate pieces, then emptied it when done.
