Trek 45 Utility Sled — Heavy-Duty Multi-Season Cargo Sled
Product description
Designed to be used year-round, this multi-purpose sled handles winter camping, hunting and fishing trips as well as general hauling tasks around a property. The Trek 45 ships with a pull rope for manual towing and is sized to fit most outdoor kit.
The hull is constructed from tough RAM‑X material with a high-density formulation that provides strong shock resistance and long-term durability. Pre-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) runners are formed directly into the hull during molding to aid tracking and reduce wear; the bottom is not a separate cover. Molded indentations along the rim secure bungee cords or straps to keep loads stable.
Capacity and dimensions: internal volume is approximately 71 liters and the sled is rated to carry up to 130 lb (60 kg). Overall length is about 45.5 in (116 cm), width 20 in (51 cm), and height 8 in (20 cm). Empty weight is roughly 6 lb (2.7 kg). Two Trek 45 units can be used together to enclose bulkier gear and expand carrying capacity.
Pros
- Robust RAM‑X shell for impact resistance
- Integrated HDPE runners for improved tracking
- Includes tow rope and bungee recesses for secure loads
Cons
- Narrow internal width due to raised rim
- Runners are molded in — no removable protective cover
- May scuff or scratch on rocky terrain
VerdictDurable, purpose-built sled for hauling equipment across snow, ice and rough ground. The Trek 45’s molded runners and high-density shell resist impacts and lengthen service life. It’s a practical choice for outdoor trips and property chores when you need reliable load-carrying and simple transport.

Perfect for ice fishing
Tough little sled for the ice — I fit all my gear and even managed to squeeze the tent on top. Tight fit but handled the load to the hole without issue.

Glides smoothly
Glides easily across snow and packed surfaces. Makes hauling gear effortless — wish I’d gotten one sooner.

Durable hunting sled
Bought it for my husband’s deer hunts. It stands up to field use and has held up nicely. We’re pleased with it.

Not exactly what he wanted
No tow bar hookup and no detachable runners. It’s deep but not very long; fine for some uses, but not what he expected. Shipping also took longer than hoped.

Lifesaver after the big storm
This sled was a real help during a 37‑inch storm. I’m 79 and live alone on the coast; it let me move a compressor 200 ft, carry groceries from the car and bring gas cans inside. Super useful.

Handy but watch tipping risk
Bought two for truck bed organization; my mom loves them. They work for moving things in snow but can tip if the ground is sloped. Expect scratches on the bottom from rocks.

Great for hauling firewood
Picked this up to move firewood from yard piles to the house through deep drifts. The plastic is thick and seems built to last. Worked well on multiple trips this season.

Solid and rugged
Built very tough — perfect for pulling deer out of brush and hauling split wood. Sturdy construction and made in the USA. I’m very happy with it.

No protective cover for runners
Sled performs fine, but there isn’t a removable cover — the runners are molded into the hull, so you can feel them on the bottom.

Great for barn chores
We use it around the barn to pick up field debris and it’s been excellent. Tough and glides well over icy, uneven ground.

Less room than expected
A bit narrower than I imagined — the wide rim cuts into usable cargo width. It’s very solid, but a slimmer lip would increase capacity.

Essential winter kit
I pulled camp gear on snowshoes in deep snow and it worked wonderfully. High sides kept everything contained. A reliable, sturdy piece of kit I now depend on.
