Thule RoundTrip 45L Boot Backpack — Travel Boot Carrier
Product description
Fits ski and snowboard boots up to Mondopoint 30.5 (approximately US 13 / UK 12 / EU 47).
A dedicated rear boot compartment isolates footwear from the rest of your kit and includes a standing mat so you can change boots while keeping your feet clean and dry. The compartment is ventilated to help air out boots between uses.
A protective top chamber gives quick access to helmet and goggles — ideal for putting gear on last in the morning and stashing it first at day’s end. The helmet pocket is shaped to keep head protection secure and separate from soft layers.
The pack is made from robust, wear-resistant fabric with reinforced seams and quality zippers. It features padded shoulder straps and a structure that helps the bag stand upright when set down.
Certified to bluesign criteria, the materials meet strict environmental and safety standards. Side pockets are roomy enough for multiple pairs of gloves, baselayers, or smaller accessories, making it a complete, travel-friendly boot backpack.
Pros
- Dedicated boot bay with standing mat and ventilation
- Protective helmet and goggle compartment for quick access
- Sturdy construction with bluesign-certified materials
Cons
- Limited capacity for heavy packers who need extra clothing
- No internal attachment point for a tracking tag
- Lacks a dedicated external pocket for travel documents
VerdictThis 45L boot backpack organizes ski and snowboard gear efficiently: a rear boot bay with a change mat, a protective top pocket for helmet and goggles, and generous side storage for gloves and layers. It’s durable, comfortable to carry, and sized for most users who want a single compact gear carrier for travel.

Exactly What I Needed for Snow Gear
Holds snowboard boots, a helmet, goggles and gloves with extra space to spare. I love the thoughtful layout and the overall quality. If you want a single bag for those items, this serves that purpose very well.

More Room Than It Appears
Smart internal layout makes this bag hold more than I expected. I tucked base layers beneath the helmet, used the helmet cavity for small items, and stashed ski pants ahead of the boots. Quality materials, ventilated boot bay, protected goggle space, comfy straps, and a sturdy shape that stands upright. Pricier than a simple bag, but the organization and build justify it for frequent travel.

High Quality Looks and Feel
Very well made with solid zippers and thick fabric — it also looks good. The layout keeps boots, helmet, and goggles distinct, and a side pocket for gloves is handy. One small improvement would be an interior loop to secure a tracking tag. It also worked as a carry-on for flights without fuss.

Solid Performer After Several Trips
Sturdy and reliable so far. Has held up through a few outings and offers just the right number of pockets for a helmet, goggles, boots and a couple layers.

Functional, Thoughtful Design for Ski Travel
I’ve used several ski bags and this one wins for organization and practicality. The boot zone is fully separate so clothes stay clean and dry, and the helmet pocket is a real convenience. Compared with bulky options I tried before, this pack balances capacity and portability and is easy to carry even when full.

Perfect Rink Companion for the Family
As a rink bag it’s excellent — it fits two adult skates side by side (women’s sizes 5 and 6) and a child’s helmet nested on top. I placed our younger daughter’s size 13 skates in the helmet area and still had room for extras. Holds gear for most of our family trips to the local rink, though as a snowboard-specific family it can feel a bit tight for all our needs at once.

Good Choice for Light Packers
Delivered quickly. Ideal if you pack only essentials like one pair of boots, helmet, goggles, socks and a mask. Not suited to carry lots of extra ski clothing. Would prefer a side pocket for passport and phone, but the construction is solid.

45L Is Plenty for Most People
Glad I chose 45L instead of the larger size. My 26.5 boots fit easily with about two inches to spare, and the bag should accommodate up to Mondopoint 30.5. If someone had trouble fitting boots, they may have tried the front pocket — boots are meant to go in the rear compartment, separate from helmet and clothing.
