3-Tier Large Glass Hamster Cage with Wire Topper, Shelves & Ramps
Product description
This 3-tier small-animal enclosure measures 20" L x 12" W x 20" H overall, featuring a deep glass base about 10 inches tall designed to hold substantial bedding for digging and to help contain litter. The kit includes two raised platforms, two ramp/ladders, two spring clips to secure the topper, a set of metal fastening screws and a removable waterproof PVC tray at the bottom for cleanup.
The lower portion is made of clear glass to give an unobstructed, 360-degree view of your pet’s activity, while the raised wire topper provides airflow and places for attaching water bottles, toys, and a wheel. The topper is built with narrow wire spacing (around 0.4 inches) to restrict escapes by young or small rodents and to offer adequate ventilation.
Because the main tank is glass rather than plastic or wood, it is resistant to chewing and won’t suffer from water damage or fading the way some acrylic or wooden enclosures can. The glass base is water-washable and the removable PVC tray makes daily tidying and deep cleans straightforward without trapping odors.
Assembly is designed to be completed quickly using the included fasteners and the small screwdriver provided; instruction sheets and video instructions are available to guide setup. The topper lifts off when the spring clips are released, allowing access to the interior. Customer support is offered for pre- and post-purchase questions or problems.
Pros
- 10-inch glass base supports deep bedding and digging
- Glass and metal construction resists chewing
- Clear walls and ventilated topper provide great visibility
Cons
- Heavy to move once assembled
- Glass can be damaged in transit if poorly packaged
- Some users report fiddly assembly and imperfect topper fit
VerdictThis cage offers a genuine deep bedding solution thanks to its 10-inch glass base and a ventilated wire topper for attachments and visibility. It’s especially suited to chewers because the glass and metal resist gnawing, and the included platforms, ramps and clips make a multi-level layout possible. Downsides reported by owners include weight, occasional packaging damage to the glass, and some fit

Roomy and my hamster approves
The cage is spacious and my little girl has ample room to explore and settle in. Some parts feel a bit lightweight and one spring didn’t attach properly, so the top doesn’t feel as secure as I’d like. Despite that, my hamster seems happy and comfortable, which is the most important thing.

A single-piece habitat with everything in place
This is the first time I’ve seen a tank and topper sold as one complete unit. The bottom section is about 20 gallons and perfect for tunneling, while the wire topper gives a place for the food bowl and bottle. The ramps were intuitive for my gerbil and she used them right away. Construction feels sturdy — glass and metal hold up to chewing — and the topper locks down tightly. A small screwdriver was included which made assembly easier.

Designed for burrowing but inconsistent quality
There were a few quality problems: a small crack in a glass corner, a broken plastic liner, and a snapped plastic piece during assembly. That said, the layout is ideal for gerbils since the deep base allows required bedding depth. Retrieving animals from the bottom is awkward — you must remove ramps and the topper floor — so access could be improved.

Great habitat, but packaging caused issues
The enclosure is large and our two fancy rats enjoy it; glass and wire are chew-resistant and bar spacing works well. The PVC tray has held up so far. However, packaging was inconsistent — one order arrived with the glass base broken while a second arrived intact. The company’s packing could be improved. I wish the topper were a bit taller, but overall the rats have more room to run and explore.

Well-suited for gerbils who chew things
Gerbils need chew-proof materials, so the glass base with a wire top is a good combination. Assembly was straightforward if you watch the setup video; screws, a tool and grip gloves were included. The top lifts off after releasing the spring clips, making access to the bottom simpler. Our first unit arrived broken so we returned it, but the replacement was fine.

Safety concern — claw hazard in the wire
Initially the gerbils were content digging and climbing, but one got a claw trapped in the fine mesh and was left hanging until I rescued him. We were watching, thankfully, but I won’t leave them unattended in this now. It feels unsafe for very small rodents, so I returned it and switched to a large aquarium instead.

Dishonest seller — received a different item
I received a product that did not match the listing at all. The seller sent a different item than advertised, which was very disappointing.

Used wheel and wrong model sent
The wheel arrived used with wood chip residue and wasn’t the model shown in the pictures. It was made of thin plastic, too small for a Syrian hamster, and didn’t spin smoothly. I returned it as it was unusable.

Sized correctly for proper gerbil care
After researching gerbil care from UK sources I needed a cage with deep bedding plus separate levels for gear. This was the only option I could find with around 11 inches for bedding and two upper tiers for bottles, wheel and toys. Six weeks in and the habitat has performed well — no escapes and lots of digging activity.

Three-year update from a long-term owner
Update after three years: my gerbils used this enclosure their whole lives and loved the digging space. An apparent gap I noted earlier turned out to be a missed part during assembly, so properly assembled there were no gaps. Over time the glass has loosened at the seams and the unit became too heavy to tilt to dump bedding; I tightened corner screws to keep it together for a while, but it’s become difficult to move. Still, it allowed elaborate burrowing and kept my pets contained for years. Ready to pass it on now.
