Kuuleyn Manual Honey Uncapping Roller — Bee Decapping Tool
Product description
What’s included: a decapping roller head with a needle array, a roller shaft assembly, and a smooth wooden handle that attaches to the roller.
Materials and build: the needle roller combines molded plastic elements with welded steel components for the axle and connections. The needles themselves are pointed plastic, set fairly close together to give comprehensive coverage when rolling.
Handle and ergonomics: the grip is made from turned wood with a smoothed finish to fit the hand comfortably during repetitive uncapping work. The construction aims for a balance between control and comfort.
How it’s used: press the roller against the capped comb and roll along each face to break and lift the wax covers, letting honey flow from the exposed cells. The density of the tips helps clear more surface area with each pass.
Serviceability: the roller assembly is detachable for rinsing or storage, and reattaches for use. While designed for standard brood and honey frames, inspect the unit for alignment and secure fastenings before extended use.
Pros
- Comfortable wooden handle for extended use
- Dense array of sharp plastic points for broad coverage
- Detachable design simplifies cleaning
Cons
- Some units arrive misaligned or off-center
- Plastic tips may wear with heavy use
- Assembly fastenings can be unreliable
VerdictThis manual uncapping roller offers a comfortable wooden grip and a dense array of sharp plastic tips mounted on a welded plastic-and-steel head, making it effective for removing cappings on common frames. It’s compact and removable for cleaning, but quality control appears uneven — some units arrive misaligned or fail under light use. Good value if you receive a well-made piece; inspect immediate

Poor construction
Very flimsy build. The roller wasn’t true and sat off-center. Good idea, but execution is lacking.

Broke after minimal use
Failed by the second frame. Screws pulled out of the wood and the unit split. Not dependable from what I received.
